SIM Design is looking for a full-time intern for our Red Dot winning Japan based toddler brand meroware (lovemero.jp). We require someone with a passion for branding and the ability to understand the needs of our global target audience as we share meroware with the rest of the world. Part time hours are available for eligible international students here on student visa.
You bring a fresh perspective to every project and have the design skills to create products that are truly memorable. You are organized, motivated, and enjoy working with other designers and engineers to create beautiful products. Given SIM's small size, this role will require a start up entrepreneurial attitude and the willingness to chip in. Responsibilities:
Contribute to finding design solutions on both roadmap and advanced concept projects.
Participate in project brainstorms to generate innovative ideas and product features/concepts.
Support research into design trends, consumer segments, and market competitors to inspire and guide your design directions.
Desire to create breath-taking presentation deliverables that may include research summaries, sketches, user scenarios, product renderings, and appearance models.
Hands on creative for product marketing and social media
Interested to learn about all phases of product design - from research to concept development, design for manufacturing, to marketing and sales.
Qualifications:
Great sketching, form development, product photography, CAD modeling / rendering or graphic skills, social media content creation
Familiar with relevant software (Adobe CC suite or 3D CAD rendering packages, etc.)
Excellent verbal, written, and visual communication and presentation skills
Willingness to work closely with, and take direction from, senior design team members
Student in their second or third year Bachelor’s degree program or equivalent pursuing Industrial Design, Graphic Design, or Communications.
